1928
Kuniichi Kanoh founded Chuo Sangio firm and started importing glass lenses and refractometers from Rodenstock as well as exporting textiles.
1945
Chuo Sangio firm was liquidated due to the end of WW II.
1949
Chuo Sangio Co. was established.
Re-started importing products from Rodenstock and distributing in Japanese market.
1954
Acquired distributorship for OCULUS GmbH.
1955
Started importing glass frames from Rodenstock.
1957
Started distributing machine tools in Japanese market and importing medical instruments.
1967
Started direct dealing with Rodenstock Instrumente GmbH.
1973
Opened a branch of medical instruments department in Nagoya.
1975
Kuniichi Kanoh became the chairman and Yutaka Kanoh became the president of the company.
1976
The branch in Nagoya upgraded to office.
1981
Started importing and distributing laser instruments (Ar./CO2).
Launched Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope of Rodenstock.
1993
Kuniichi Kanoh passed away at the age of 103.
1995
Launched Slitlamp RO5000.
1999
Acquired distributorship for A.R.C. Laser GmbH.
2000
Tokyo office moved to Taito-ku, Tokyo.
2001
Glasses department transferred to Rodenstock Japan.
2002
Acquired distributorship for Vector Vision.
2006
Acquired distributorship for Optovue, Inc.
2008
Acquired distributorship for Sonomed Inc.
2009
Celebrated 80th anniversary in business and 60th anniversary of foundation.
2011
Acquired distributorship for Optos plc.
Tadayoshi Kobayashi became the chairman and Kazuo Kuwahara became the president of the Company.
2014
Opened a branch in Fukuoka.
2015
Yutaka Kanoh passed away at the age of 84.
2016
Opened a branch in Sapporo.
